Italian Restaurant and Nightclub English Harbour is a lovely, small, harbour town at the southern end of the island of Antigua. English Harbour is well known for the winter pilgrimage of elegant yachts. The owners, crew and charter guests come to enjoy the constant trade winds and pleasures Antigua comes to offer. Nelson's Dockyard, a Georgian Naval dockyard, famous for it's namesake and the countless forays against the French, and Shirley's Heights, with it's remarkable view, are two of of the island's main attractions. English Harbour hosts a major charter boat show in December, Antigua Classic Regatta and the world famous Antigua Sailing Week in April. This Italian Restaurant and Nightclub is quite famous in it's own right. Founded in 1984 and run successful by the same family ever since the business continues to thrive. The business consists of two dining areas and a deck with seating for a 100, a large dance floor with a long bar capable of entertaining many, gardens front and back with an outdoor chill-out lounge and an additional bar and smaller dancing area. All this is supported by a large functional kitchen, a small breakfast kitchenette, storage rooms and offices. The Italian Restaurant is very popular and is known for the casual fine dining on offer. The food is classic Italian with dishes such as Antipasto appetizers, home made pasta dishes and selected seafood and meat specialites. In addition to the fixed menu specials of the freshest catch of the day are on offer. Desserts are to die for and, of course, the coffee is the finest Italian. The dishes are complimented with fine wines and liquors from around the world. Once dining is over the restaurant winds down and the bar fills up. A DJ plays the latest Euro sounds and the place rocks. The height of the festivites are the numerous fance dress parties held through the season. The customers consisting of yachties, locals and tourists pack these parties out. Weekend or weekday the outside bar and dance area is well attended. The staff number over 30 with the casuals. The kitchen is run by the Executive Chef, 3 cooks, 2 assistants and a dishwasher. Front of restaurant consists of a maitre'd, a sommelier and up to 6 waiters. The outside bar and nightclub is run by a manager with a DJ, 7 bartenders and a security detail. There is a bookkeeper and ground maintenance staff. The business operates in the high season from 15th November to 15th May and in the month of August. During this time the business is closed on all Sundays after from 5 at high peak times. The restaurant operates from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The bar and outside area are operational from 6 p.m. until about 4 a.m. with the DJ playing after dinner. The sandwich bar and a portion of the restaurant are operated by a sub-tenant during lunches and late nights. The lease is valid until 2015. Details will be provided on application. The owner will run the business until mid-May. A potential buyer is advised to travel down now to investigate this opportunity and close on the business soon.
