French Bistro Restaurant
St. John's , Antigua.

St. John's is the capital of Antigua and Barbuda and the main entry port for the island. Large Cruise Liners arrive several times a week and passengers disembark for the day to visit Antigua and shop in Heritage and Redcliffe Quays of St. John's. The quay area is an attractive enviroment and all manner of Antiguans and visitors like to venture here to shop, browse and have lunch.

The French Bistro is a very popular daytime venue located near the Cruise Ship Terminal and in downtown St. John's. The venue is in the middle of one of Antigua's oldest areas- Georgian Dock wharehouses and slave quarters. The interior seats eight at the bar and eight in the alcove, while 46 are seated under cover on the terrace.

The casual cafe style business starts early serving breakfast from 8.30 a.m. Good coffee, bagels, full egg breakfasts and omlettes are served until 11.30. Lunch is then served with a selection of large fresh salads, baguettes, crepes, fresh fish-catch of the day and other delights the owners dream up. Quality wines are served in addition to beer and other beverages.

The staff consists two cooks, two kitchen assistants and four waitresses. The owners are a couple who share the duties of management. One partner runs the kitchen while the other runs the front of house. This business would suit an owner operator couple with restaurant experience.

The business operates for 11 months a year. The owners elect to close in August for their holidays. Daily business takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The owners choose which particular holidays to trade. The business was established in 2001 and the venue has been successfully occupied long before that. The location is very desirable for lunch time trade.

The lease is 5 years with an option to renew for a further 5 years. The owners currently have two and a half years remaining. The landlord will grant a new lease and the business is being sold subject to the buyer meeting with the landlord and agreeing to a new lease. The current lease is also transferrable.

The owners are selling as they feel they have done what they want in this venue and they are ready for new challenges.
